- Cassidy was injured in a car accident on October 5th, 2006. He was diagnosed with a fractured skull, and several broken bones on the left side of his face. If you look at recent pictures you can see the scars. (I still love him though … yep)

- He’s always bashing another rapper in his mixtapes. Always always always has atleast a song dissing another rapper. tsk tsk tsk

- He was the first in the rap industry to start the antagonist vs. protagonist within a person in his 2004 album called “Split Personality”. The record is divided into three parts,In the first he is “Cassidy”, in the second he is “The Problem” and in the third it’s “B.Reese”.

- He was part of a rap group called Larsiny Family with his home-town friends in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania until he decided to diss one of the members in a track, and got kicked out.

- April 15th, 2005 Cassidy was part of a shoot out between his boys, and a couple other guys and one of them, Desmond Hawkins, was shot to death. Cassidy was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and was given a death sentence without the possibility of parole. He was then proved to be innocent and let out eight months later, where he released a track talking about this incident called “Innocent Man“.

A sonnet that is famous, that I kind of like is “Shall I Compare Thee to a Summers Day” aka sonnet 18, by William Shakespeare 1608:

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

I like sonnets only because they are the most interesting part in a Shakespearean book, not that I’m “dissing” his books. I just find it to hold the most interest for me. The poem starts off adoring the person, and says that they are more lovely and more temperate than a summer’s day. The poet then lists things that are negative about summer like it being too short, that it shines too hot, but the beauty of the erson lasts forever unlike the best summer day. He puts his love’s beauty into the form of poetry, the poet is preserving it forever by the power of his written words. Poems like these come in handy when you’re self esteem is at an all-time low, on Valentines day or even when you’re in the mood to read a poem about love in the Elizabethan era.

Sarah Lang was born in the winter of 1980, in Northwestern Canada. In the spring of 2004, she completed her MFA at Brown University and in the fall of 2005, she started to work on her PhD in Chicago. Her work varies between poetry, prose, personal, critical and medical essays; they were all published in Canada, Great Britain, and the US. This is her first book. When I first picked up the book, The Work of Days, I never really thought it would be interesting because of the title, the faded out chemistry on the front cover, and the fact that she wasted paper on a book that at the most has thirty words per page; but on the sparkle side (I know you’re probably wondering “what the heck is she thinking?” but I actually like the phrase) her poems make NO sense whatsoever to me, but that’s what I like about it. Most poets/writers write about things that will make you zoom in on a specific idea, but these poems make you go on an epic journey. A journey with millions of destinations and one starting point. A journey that doesn’t really end, because of the wide variety of possibilities. A jounrey that could mean one thing today, but another tomorrow. One poem of hers I totally fell inlove with is in part two of her book:

For three inches, I turned the knife in your neck. I watched
the word covet. For forty-five days, I missed your hair.

In a borrowed apartment, I held this contentment. You gagged
as a slit shell. Your eyes opened as the blue wing of a jay, as
yawn. My tongue in your ear listened to your throat

sing. Those weren’t scabs you fingered, but you always did sail
clean on through. For your olives and dry cleaning. For your happiness,
I opened as an unused window, without grace and wailing.

Illuminati comes from the Latin word illuminatus which means “enlightened”. The illuminati conspiracy is a theory that says there is a “Global Elite” society that will take over the world, or already in control of the world. The illuminati started out as a secret society and their direction came from Jesuit priests. After a while, five men (one for each point of the pentagram) formed “The Ancient and Illuminated Seers of Bavaria” and were Freemasons. They beliee in mysticism and eastern mental disciplines, trying to figure out how they can get super powers of the mind. Their “plan” and purpose is to get world domination for their lord, which doesn’t make sense because they try to defy God. According to the conspiract, the illuminati are the ones behind brainwashing the gullible through thought control and manipulation of beliefs, the press, educational curriculum, and political leadership of the nations.

“The main focus should not be on this world, which is perishing. Making a significant change to the mainstream system is almost impossible. Time would be much better spent on forming an independent system. There is much hope as we can choose not to follow the god of this world, but worship God so that we can enjoy a much better life to come.”

When I first clicked it on it, I paused it because I was watching something in another tab and then all of a sudden it played itself and I thought it was part of the other video I was watching. Then I kept playing the video and that part wasn’t in it, took me a while to realize it was the moonlight video.

I think this video is really amazing because the visuals and the sounds go hand in hand. It sounds like something you’d hear in a movie, a scary one. It sounds like people’s voices. It sounds like a million things. A million mediocre things put in one sound composition to make something sound so beautiful. It sounds so out of the norm, like the vocals are in your face just slapping you. Not those hard slaps, but the soft ones that just make you smile… if those exist in the real world?

I had a few questions on this video, and I google’d it to see if I could find any answers. My first question was what the heck does epitaph mean? I found out it means the words/phrases on a tombstone or monument in memory of the person buried there. Does that mean the moon is dead? Or does it mean the light of the moon is dead, because it’s daytime and obviously there is no moonlight during the day. I confused myself, but point being I feel as if the title to this video means something. Not just any kind of something, but a significant something.

I wanted to research more on the video, but nothing came up because the person put the video and the sound piece together themselves. But all in together-ness, fall out the weather-ness. <– nothing to do with this. I just had to add that because I don’t know how to finish this post

When I first seen this in the list, I thought “hey, how to cook a duck!”. Not that I want to learn how to cook a duck, but because it seemed so random, so out of the ordinary, so me. The second time around I remembered that my favourite comedian Louis C.K (kaay, I don’t know if I did it correctly but according to my calculations when you click the name, a youtube link should come out.. pardon my retardation, this is my first time hyperlink-ing.)

I also do not know if my speakers are bad or he’s too far from the microphone, but I cannot understand one word he is saying. To me it sounds like faint mumbling… After FINALLY reading his whole discography (whatever that means), I realize that he is a text-sound composition-errrr.

What? You know when your speakers are too high, they start to malfunction and sound like screeching? I thought the noise were my speakers. I did not know people could screech like that. It must have taken talent, throat problems and copying the neighbors cat every night.

“Ouch! My ears…” THAT was my first instinct. Not “Oh hey, that’s so cool!” I do not understand why they did not block out the girls’ faces. Seeing their facial expressions was more painful, but maybe they wanted it to be like that? Maybe they wanted us to suffer? Maybe they wanted us to feel a fraction of what they are feeling while making those sounds? The whole piece seemed raw, unedited, and just natural. There are so many flaws in the video, it almost seems as if they wanted us to SEE them. I think it depends on what type of  ”sound” you like, and I guess people enjoy this. The only amusing thing about this piece is the fact that it was all from their mouths, and not at one point did an instrument come in.

Off we go to facebook, to find a fellow classmate who was paying attention in class …
